RYA Powerboat Courses

Powerboat training is by far one of the most popular boating courses in the world. A starting place and tuition aimed at providing all skills and background knowledge to get you out in the water with confidence and safety. Completing a RYA Powerboat 2 course will lead to a international certificate of competence, also known as an ICC, for UK residents. Power boat 2 training courses are available to people over the age of 12 years old. The course covers preparation, launch and recovery, as well as boat handling and manoeuvres. You will be taught the theory and background of power boating as well as international regulations for the prevention of collision at sea. Direct assessment upon completion may lead to a power boat 2 certificate.  Power boating is a hobby enjoyed by many of all ages, but care and time must be taken into proper training and lessons, so that you can enjoy this hobby safely for both you and others on the water. Safety courses include such situations as “man over board” which will teach you how to act quickly and effectively when emergencies such as this arise. You will also learn information on the types of crafts and engines that you may use or come across in your new hobby!
